Connor Kennedy & Minstrel is a band steeped in a tradition of creativity that began in the quaint, yet famous arts colony of Woodstock, NY over a hundred years ago.
Noted by Yahoo! Music as one of ’25 Singer-Songwriters Under 25’, Connor Kennedy writes songs grounded in a simplistic naturalism inherent to American roots; whilst remaining unbound to any puritanical definition or designation.
Together, with bandmates Will Bryant (organ), Lee Falco (drums), and Brandon Morrison (bass) comes the timeless presentation of inspired songwriting in blinding convergence with the raw power of a well-versed rock and roll band firing on all cylinders.
Recounting the first time she saw the band, Tania Elizabeth, fiddler for The Avett Brothers, said she “was sure the next time she’d see them would be in Rolling Stone..”.
Though the band has yet to grace those pages, their charismatic ability to function as a symbiotic musical entity has allowed them the opportunity to grace stages alongside a slew of preeminent rock and roll figures, including Donald Fagen, Graham Nash, Bill Payne (of Little Feat), John Sebastian, Kate Pierson (of The B52’s), Mercury Rev, and most frequently, Amy Helm, who bestowed Connor and his band mates with a role in her continuation of live music at Levon Helm Studios.
No matter where they go, or where they play, the unanimous reaction from audiences and fellow musicians; is that the music of Connor Kennedy & Minstrel will be soon be spread the world around.
The band is currently working on their first full-length studio recording; which will be released in the Spring of 2017.
