What do you get when you merge two of the hottest Aussie names in dance for a music project?

L D R U and Yahtzel first joined forces to release The Only One on Sydney’s Future Classic label, to which their chemistry ultimately led to them planning the Carmada venture in absolute secrecy. It wasn’t until L D R U joined Yahtzel for a B2B set at Splendour in the Grass festival to the surprise of fans to debut Maybe in July 2014. It was then that the project was announced, leading to an OWSLA & Sony global signing. Gaining nods from the likes of Skrillex and Diplo, a #1 debut on iTunes AU, Gold Certified Record (ARIA), a #41 finish for Maybe in the triple j Hottest 100 and sets at festivals across the globe from Ultra Miami, HARD Summer, Stereosonic to Holy Ship!. Carmada quickly became a renowned international act with artists including the likes of Chrome Sparks, Destructo, Getter and Pegboard Nerds lining up to remix their tunes whilst also laying down remixes for Major Lazer and Charli XCX along the way.

Aside from Caramda, in 2015/16 L D R U and Yahtzel are dominating the Aussie dance individually whilst Carmada is off cycle. L D R U’s 2015 single Keeping Score hit Platinum (ARIA) and came in a tidy #22 on triple j’s 2015 Hottest 100. Meanwhile, Yahtzel has his viral hit High With Me still clocking over 13 million plays on TheSoundYouNeed and national tour support for ODESZA.

Their 1st single from their 2nd OWSLA / Sony EP is scheduled to come in October 2016 with a full EP slated early 2017. It will be hard to beat the Realise EP which has been praised by Skrillex as “one of his favourite releases of all time” (OWSLA Radio on Beats 1, Episode 3), but with a string of collaborations, originals and content coming from all 3 projects it is expected the Aussie super duo will have their biggest year yet.
