Pep Love

Born in Jackson Mississippi, Pep Love relocated with his family to Albany, California as a teenager. He made his recording debut on the B-Side for Del’s single Wrong Place at the Wrong Time off of the album, No Need For Alarm on a song called Undisputed Champs featuring A Tribe Called Quest front man Q-Tip. In Albany, he partnered with fellow DJ/producer Jay Biz to form the The Shamen. Pep Love released his solo debut album, Ascension in 2001 and Ascension Side C in 2003, through the Hieroglyphics Imperium Label. He is expected to release The Rigamarole in 2012. He also contributed significantly to both of the Hieroglyphics’ studio albums, 3rd Eye Vision (1998) and Full Circle (2003).
